Correct Storage of Scheduled Medicines
The Board reminds pharmacy proprietors and pharmacists with overall responsibility of their
obligation to ensure the safe and compliant storage of scheduled medicines within registered
pharmacy premises.
Compliance with the requirements of the Pharmacy Act 2010 (WA), the Pharmacy Regulations
2010 (WA) and the Board’s Guidelines for Safe Storage of Medicines in Pharmacies does not
remove the requirement to comply with the provisions of the Medicines and Poisons Act 2014
(WA) and the Medicines and Poisons Regulations 2016 (WA).
